PC-Equipped Anemometer/Wind Vane Systems |
Komatsu Factory Co.'s PC-ready anemometer/wind
vanes are the perfect tool to bring wind
speed and direction data to a personal computer.
With a basic system, a propeller-type sensor
is linked to a translator, which converts
the RS-422 digital signal output by the sensor
to an RS232C signal. The signal is then transmitted
to a personal computer, which calculates
instantaneous and 10-minute average values
for wind speed and direction and displays
the results on-screen. The computer can use
the 10-minute average values to generate
and display or print daily or monthly charts
and wind roses. Systems with additional features
are easily configured by including a data
logger, a modem, or other modules. The easy-to-operate processing application is supported by Windows98, Me, NT, and 2000. As an optional function, Komatsu Factory Co. has also developed an information release system that connects via Web and mail servers to use the Internet. |
